Fuck Yeah Vancouver Street Food
Ragazzi Pizza!
Thursday only! Burrard and Pender 11:30am-1pm (they are currently doing repairs to their truck and wont be downtown for the next several weeks)
If you’ve had to endure the bland pizza in Vancouver fret no more! Ragazzi is easily some of the best pizza I have ever had, period! They have a restaurant in the east side of Vancouver and really wont deliver downtown unless it’s an order of 4 or more pizzas. So do whatever you must to try this pizza. You wont be disappointed.

The Kaboom Box!
Granville St & Robson St 11am-7pm
Serving the best of BC including the world famous Hot Smoked Sockeye Salmwich, Fish and Chips, Veggie and Venison burgers, Poutines and salads.
I tried their Hot Smoked Sockeye Salmwich and it was very good. They also do a twist on the traditional poutine by adding grilled mushrooms to the mix! Great spot for a food truck on Granville St with plenty of nearby benches and loads of great people watching.

Sorry to go completely off topic here but the documentary I’m working on currently really needs help from outside donations. Check it out, you may like it a lot!

Cartel Taco!
Dunsmuir St and Hamilton St 11:30a-3p
Korean bulgogi tacos using fresh sauces and salsas, tender meat from ethically treated animals and handmade tortillas.
Your choice, pork or beef both done in a Korean bulgogi style. Decent tacos but not quite worth all the hype over this truck. I’d eat them again if I was near them but I wouldn’t go seeking them out. Perhaps my Kogi food truck experience in L.A. will forever jade my opinion on any other Korean taco truck.
Great outdoor space to sit and enjoy your food with lots of benches and fountains outside the BC Hydro building.

Lemon Sea!
Beach Ave & Chilco St Noon-7pm only open in nice weather
Fresh squeezed lemonade and crepes.
Wow! What a huge let down after all the great food truck experiences I have had up to this one. The only thing here that’s fresh is the lemons. It was a warm day by the beach but they don’t serve ice with the lemonade. They also don’t make the crepes fresh, I doubt they make the crepes at all as I watched them use the crepe griddle to melt processed, singular-slice packaged, American cheese and ham slices from a plastic resealable pouch onto a precooked crepe pancake which then got topped with iceberg lettuce and mayonnaise. Yuck! I’m really not sure why this vendor is listed on the Vancouver Street Food app. I’m very disappointed. Great location to sit and eat really bad crepes and warm lemonade. Ho hum.

Arturo’s Mexico To Go!
Howe St & W Cordova 11am-3pm
Arturo’s unique recipes are a fusion of Spanish and traditional Mexican created by generations of master chefs.
YUM! This truck is fantastic! I’ve had 2 different variations of their burrito in a bowl, the beef and the pork. You can choose to add mild, medium, or spicy salsa to your dish. Just beware that the beef is marinated in a chipotle sauce so it already has a a nice amount of spicy going on. They also have specials every so often and are currently offering a salmon tostada.
My absolute favorite part of this truck is that they sell Mexican Coca-Cola. If you don’t know Mexican Coke still uses cane sugar as a sweetener, this means it’s extra good. Do you remember when Coke came out with “New Coke”? Well that was when they switched over to using high fructose corn syrup. Coke enthusiasts were up-in-arms with the “new” flavor and Coke tried to remix things to taste more like the cane sugar based cola but they never quite succeeded. Do yourself a favor and try one. You’ll never want North American Coke again.

JapaDog!!!!
Burrard & Pender 11:30am-5pm Burrard & Smithe 12pm-7:30pm Granville & W Cordova 11:30am-5pm
Vancouver’s very famous Japanese style hot dog stand!
If you live in Vancouver and have never tried this what are you waiting for! You can’t even give the excuse of being vegetarian since they have veggie-dogs!
Everything here is good. One of the most unique hotdgos you will ever have and you’ll crave another while you’re still eating the first one. My mouth is watering just thinking of a Terri-Mayo dog.
3 locations scattered throughout the downtown core they also have a restaurant on Robson near Homer (I think it’s Homer). The photo used here is of their Waterfront location on Granville and W Cordova which is not the best place for eating on the street but who ever needed a place to sit while eating a hotdog, really?

Feastro The Rolling Bistro!
Thurlow St & W Cordova St 11:30am-6pm
Seafood tacos, prawns, fish & chips, oysters, seafood chowder, prawn bisque, pork tacos, salads and yam/sweet potato fries.
All the food on this truck is local so it’s some of the freshest fish your likely to find on a food truck in any city. The tacos are good but the salad is what I still crave the most. Lots of good stuff here so it will take more than one visit to decide on a fave menu item.
Excellent area for outdoor eating with loads of benches just outside the Shaw building or 2 steps the other direction and you can eat under the Olympic cauldron at the convention centre.

Bada Bing!
Robson and Bute 11am-3pm and again from 6pm-9pm Sat & Sun 12pm-10pm
Philly cheese steak sandwiches served in an Italian bun with melted Monterey Jack cheese, grilled mushrooms, onions and green peppers.
It’s not about the sandwich here for me, it’s good but their poutine is the best poutine I’ve had since moving to Canada 3+ years ago. It’s seriously addictive! This is one of only a handful of trucks I’ve already revisited just for the poutine!
One of the few trucks open for a dinner crowd on the weekends. Not a great place for outdoor eating however with no benches, chairs or tables anywhere near the truck. 5-10 minute walk to nearest park or benches.

Dim Sum Express!
Howe St & Canada Place 11:30am-5pm
Hand-made dim sum, dumplings, buns and other Chinese goodies.
Really good, really inexpensive Chinese comfort food. Avoid the Noon to 1pm crowd if you don’t want to stand in line for a long time. It’s also a great area to sit outside and enjoy your food with plenty of benches around Canada Place.
